Medicaid came through like a champ.
Zofran is $28 per pill ( Jen's reccommended dosage is three pills a day, you do the math ). It's often given to patients who get nauseous from chemo.
I'm all for the free market and capitalism. Seriously. But, christ almighty, explain to me how you charge $28 per pill to cancer patients and sleep at night? Anyone at GlaxoSmith Kline is free to answer this question.
We have to wait another week to do the amnio stuff because Jen's only 14 weeks along. We did get to see the little peanut via sonogram today.
It's fucking unreal.
On a cerebral level, I understand that Jen is pregnant, but once I SAW her ( see how I'm already assuming it's a girl? )it all seemed a lot more real.
I know this all seems very cliche' and boring, but, hey, that's what's going on in my life right now.

Awww...do they think it's a girl? Girls are so much fun!
I found that when the doctor pointed out on the sonogram that the baby did not have a penis is when I knew it was a girl. Just a little help from someone that has been there.

Since you haven't named your baby yet I'd like to throw out some suggestions in addition to the aforementioned "Big Fat Emily":
1) Toofbrush
2) Plastic baggie
3) Cornhole
4) Shoelace
Your choice.
