I have no interesting title for this post and am increasingly finding it to be a source of stress to come up with a title.

Oh, Barack.

You complete pussy.

What's so controversial, or even inaccurate, about this:

In a sermon on the Sunday after the attacks of 11 September 2001, Mr Wright told his congregation: "We have supported state terrorism against the Palestinians and black South Africans, and now we are indignant because the stuff we have done overseas is now brought right back to our own front yards.

"America's chickens are coming home to roost."

SO.

FUCKING.

WHAT.

Nevertheless, Obama goes and acts like a (*GASP*) politician.

Yup, Jenny and Johnny College Kid, Obama's just like the rest of 'em.

He back-pedals, he dis-associates, he makes statements and distances himself, he, well...acts like all the other glad-handing tools do when they are questioned about anything that even smells like controversy.

I can't see how this hurts Obama as far as his current supporters are concerned. I would wager that most of them happen to agree with the pastor's statements. It seems like those that have their panties firmly in a bunch are not Obama ( or even Clinton ) people. It's all the talk radio douchebags.

As much as I'd like to pretend that I "don't see color", that's a complete bag of horseshit. I see color and I also realize that I don't have a fucking CLUE what it's like to be a black man in America. I'm sure it can be pretty goddamn frustrating at times and that's why black people often get together ( even in church ) and share their experiences.

That's perfectly o.k., folks.

It doesn't mean that someone has a hidden agenda because they identify with a group of people. It doesn't mean that they dislike everyone outside of that group. It just means that they've turned to a collection of people with common experiences so they can better understand and interpret those experiences.

I know that Limbaugh and Hannity will be really disappointed, but that's it. There really is nothing else to this whole thing.

I think it's very telling that they seem so excited at the whiff of controversy surrounding Obama that they seize on something as lame as this.

I really wish Obama had the courage to say so.

His response should have been:

"Really?"

"That's all ya' got?"
