There's a this thing called the music genome project at Pandora which uses a similar algorithm to find songs you like. You just enter the names of songs or bands you like and it searches for live internet streams of the same and similar songs. It's been pretty accurate in predicting new music I'll like based on what I've entered. Check it out if you haven't already.
